Die Teilnehmenden der 2. Juristischen Fachkonferenz „Der sogenannte Anti-Terror-Kampf am Beispiel der Kurden — Praxis im europäischen Rechtsraum“ wandten sich im Januar 2011 aus Bochum mit gleichlautenden Schreiben an Ministerpräsident Recep Tayyip Erdoğan und an Innenminister Beşir Atalay.
Die Konferenz war vom Verein für Demokratie und Internationales Recht (MAF-DAD) gemeinsam mit dem Rechtshilfefonds AZADÎ, der Internationalen Liga für Menschenrechte und der Europäischen Vereinigung von Jurist:innen für Demokratie und Menschenrechte in der Welt (ELDH) ausgerichtet worden. Die Unterzeichnenden sind Anwält:innen, Jurist:innen und Jurist:innenorganisationen aus verschiedenen Ländern und Rechtsordnungen.
Ein drittes Schreiben derselben Konferenz richtete sich an Justizminister Sadullah Ergin; es ist auf dieser Website gesondert dokumentiert.

In January 2011, from Bochum, the participants of the 2nd Juridical Expert Conference “The so-called anti-terror struggle using the example of the Kurds — practice in the European legal sphere” wrote in identical terms to Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and to Interior Minister Beşir Atalay.
The conference had been convened by the Association for Democracy and International Law (MAF-DAD) together with the legal aid fund AZADÎ, the International League for Human Rights and the European Association of Lawyers for Democracy and World Human Rights (ELDH). The signatories are lawyers, jurists and jurists' organisations from various countries and legal systems.
