Seit Jahrzehnten wird die in Deutschland lebende kurdische Community auf der Grundlage des 1993 erlassenen Betätigungsverbots von deutschen Behörden gezielt kriminalisiert. Aus diesem Anlass luden die ELDH, das Komitee für Grundrechte und Demokratie e.V., der Rechtshilfefonds AZADÎ e.V., MAF-DAD e.V. und die Vereinigung Demokratischer Juristinnen und Juristen (VDJ) zu einem Forum unter dem Motto „28 Jahre PKK-Betätigungsverbot: Jetzt reden wir!“.

Der erste Tag war den Erfahrungen der Betroffenen gewidmet, einschließlich der Repression gegenüber Internationalist:innen und solidarischen Kreisen. Der zweite Tag begann mit einer Analyse der rechtlichen Hintergründe des Verbots und endete mit der Abschlussrede des Organisationskomitees.

For decades the Kurdish community living in Germany has been deliberately criminalised by German authorities on the basis of the activity ban issued in 1993. Taking the ban as their occasion, ELDH, the Committee for Fundamental Rights and Democracy, the AZADÎ legal aid fund, MAF-DAD and the Association of Democratic Lawyers (VDJ) convened a forum under the motto “28 years of the PKK activity ban: now we speak!”.

The first day was devoted to the experience of those affected, including repression against internationalists and solidarity circles. The second day opened with an analysis of the legal background of the ban and closed with the organising committee's final address.
