An independent international legal mission accompanied the ongoing peace process in Türkiye and set out its findings in a post-mission report. The mission included Urko Aiartza Azurtza (Co-President of ELDH), Raquel Crespo Castro (Secretary of Esculca), Devrat (Advocate-on-Record, Supreme Court of India) and Clemens Lahner (ELDH).
The report places the current process in the history of earlier attempts at de-escalation — among them the 2012–2015 “solution process” — and names the structural obstacles on which those attempts foundered. It identifies Abdullah Öcalan's February 2025 call for an end to the armed struggle as the turning point of the new phase.
