Die Bitte, die Beweise zum Konflikt zwischen dem türkischen Staat und dem kurdischen Volk zu prüfen, wurde dem Ständigen Tribunal der Völker (Permanent Peoples' Tribunal, PPT) erstmals im Juli 2017 vorgetragen. Der Auftrag umfasste einen Schwerpunkt auf den jüngsten Ereignissen vor ihrem historischen und geopolitischen Hintergrund sowie eine Bewertung der Schwere des Konflikts.
Die Sitzung fand am 15. und 16. März 2018 über zwei volle Tage in der Bourse du Travail in Paris statt. Das Urteil wurde von einer international besetzten Jury unter der Präsidentschaft von Philippe Texier gefällt.

The request to consider the evidence relating to the conflict between the Turkish State and the Kurdish people was first submitted to the Permanent Peoples' Tribunal (PPT) in July 2017. The terms of reference called for a focus on the most recent events against their historical and geopolitical background, together with an assessment of the severity of the conflict.
The session was held over two full days, on 15 and 16 March 2018, at the Bourse du Travail in Paris. The judgment was delivered by an international jury presided over by Philippe Texier.
